In the automotive world, some colors do more than stand out – they tell a story. They define eras, reflect personality, and at times, become icons themselves. Such is the case with Verde Scandal, a Lamborghini shade whose name – like its hue – is impossible to forget.
A story between fact and legend
To trace the origin of this bold, almost irreverent green, we must travel back to the late 1960s. It was a defining moment for Lamborghini, as the brand introduced what would become one of its most celebrated models: the Lamborghini Miura. That car didn’t just set new standards in performance and design – it marked the beginning of a new era where color, too, became a form of expression.
Even then, Automobili Lamborghini understood the power of customization. And just as it is today, every special request was handled in-house at the Sant’Agata Bolognese facility – a temple of craftsmanship and Made in Italy excellence.
The "scandalous" moment
As the story goes, a woman once requested a custom paint color for her Lamborghini – a color that didn't yet exist. She pointed to the exact shade she wanted: the dress she was wearing at that moment. When asked to provide a sample, she didn’t hesitate. She simply removed the dress and handed it over, ensuring her request would be honored to the last detail. And so, Verde Scandal was born – a name that lives on as both a color and a story.

A return to the spotlight
Recently, Verde Scandal returned to center stage in a setting worthy of its legacy. A stunning 1970 Lamborghini Miura, finished in this unforgettable shade, took part in the 2nd edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Varignana 1705, one of the most refined showcases of automotive beauty in Italy.
Presented by collector Antonio Muzzioli, the car competed in the prestigious category “Il meglio della Motor Valley”, earning an impressive second place, just behind the model that would later win Best of Show. A testament to how, even decades later, the Miura in Verde Scandal continues to captivate judges and enthusiasts alike – not only for its engineering, but for the bold spirit expressed in every line and color.
When heritage meets innovation
Verde Scandal is more than a shade. It is a statement – proof that design details can transcend time. It’s a link between past and future, between the legend of the Miura and the cutting-edge spirit of Lamborghini’s modern lineup. A color that continues to capture the imagination of those who don’t just drive machines, but live legends.
